Article Abstract:
A number of trends are observed in Italy's prepared soup industry. The sales of stock cubes increased by 1% to 1,010 million liters while 30.8 million units of canned and dried soups were sold in 1993. Dried soups had the largest market, share accounting for 84.4% of volume sales. The growth of the frozen vegetable mixes market for home-made soups has also hindered the growth of the prepared soup market. Information on major manufacturers are presented.
