Mahathir, Soros and the currency markets: amoral maybe, but currency speculators are both necessary and productive
Article Abstract:
Prime Minister Mahathir, who has had a feud with currency speculators, told the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund that the activities of the speculators are unnecessary and immoral. Mahathir seems to believe that government, rather than markets, are the best judge of exchange rates.
