European markets: small electrical appliances: total market size: sectoral performance
Article Abstract:
The kitchen appliances sector of the small electrical appliances market is the only sector that posted satisfactory growth in volume in all five key European markets during the review period ending 1997. Germany's weak value performance prompted a decrease in the value sales of kitchen appliances, which, nevertheless, yielded growth in value sales. In volume terms, the lowest results were yielded by the cleaning appliances sector, which experienced weakening sales in Italy and France and modest increases in Spain and Germany.
