David Hessayon is a successful writer on gardening who writes down-to-earth advice and is not concerned about fashion or glamorous graphics. He studied botany at Leeds University, England, and later worked as a chemist for a company making chemicals for gardens. He asked for helkp from his company to publish a beginner's gardening book, and partly funded the venture himself. Some of the books have become collectors' items, though they are designed to be used rather than for decoration on coffee tables.

Polar snow reveals secrets of ozone-depleting gases
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the problem of stratospheric ozone depletion caused by gases produced by human activities. Investigation of a polar snowpack in Antarctica has revealed no ozone-depleting gases in it.
