FRANCE: PESCANOVA'S GOALS

Pescanova intends to revitalise the French frozen fish market, which slipped 1.6% in volume for plain fish in 2000, and breaded fish which dropped 4%. The company is counting on innovation and advertising in order to carry out its objective. Pescanova is launching a television advertising campaign in spring 2001, in order to support the new lines of plain fish. The company is also launching a line of two versions of wild shrimp on its shellfish line: Crevettes Royales de l'Ocean Indien and Crevettes Tigrees d'Afrique Orientale. These products come in 140-gram boxes.

FRANCE: FINDUS BOOSTS ITS FISH LINE
Article Abstract:
In France, Findus is boosting its 14-item frozen cooked fish line. In addition to changing the packaging, Findus has improved four products: fished topped with crusty brown cheese, fish with tarragon, fish with mustard, and provencale-type fish. The recommended retail price is between FFr 20 and FFr 30 according to the item. These products are packaged in a carton containing 400 grams to 480 grams.

FRANCE: CROUSTIBAT COMIC STRIPS

Findus France will include one of three comic strips featuring Croustibat, the breaded fish sticks character in February 2001. These comic strips, a promotional support, are slipped into boxes of fish sticks.
