Non-alcoholic and alcholic beverages in Belgium
Article Abstract:
The Belgian market for soft drinks and mineral water grew 5.2% during 1994-95, while beer turnover fell 1.1%. The wine market stabilized but is expected to improve as a variety of wines from countries other than France become available. Total drinks production was worth 86.6 billion Belgian francs growing nearly 18% in 1995. The relaxing of advertising regulations to allow ads for beverages with an alcohol content up to 20% may open the Belgian wine market further to bottlers from Australia, South American and South Africa. Belgian brewers export 31% of their output.
