FRANCE: TOOLS FOR PROMOTING A WEB SITE
Article Abstract:
According to a survey by IPSOS-Mediangles/IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) France, the top four tools for promoting a sales site are first of all, on-line advertising, with an entry ticket which is lower than for regular media. According to IAB, an average of FFr 700mn must be spent to recruit a new client through on-line advertising. Second is 'permission marketing' or the agreement of Internet users to receive advertising. On-line advertising is thus seen more as a service given, than an intrusion. The third tool is to consider an information letter. IAB says that this is one of the best ways to sell and to maintain contact. Lastly, there is network operations, which consist of setting up as many links as possible with its site, in order to increase the brand awareness effect.
