FRANCHISEE GETS COURT TO STAY SALE OF KWALITY IN EAST INDIA
Article Abstract:
The eastern region franchisee for Hindustan Lever Limited's (HLL) Kwality ice-creams, HI Dairy and Agro Products Limited (HDAP), has obtained a stay from the Hajipur court barring HLL from selling the ice-creams in its territory. The court has banned HLL from selling Kwality Walls ice-creams in West Bengal, Bihar and Rourkela in Orissa, which HDAP claims as its territory. HLL had contended that HDAP's territory was confined to north Bihar only. HDAP decided to go to the court, after the Calcutta High Court barred it from selling Kwality ice-creams in Calcutta. (gsh)
