After focusing on diversification through acquisitions in the 1990s, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. has now begun looking instead to its original brands to boost its falling sales and market share. As part of this initiative, chief executive officer Bernard Arnault has asked one of his top aides, Yves Carcelle, to direct his attention to strengthening the company's poplular luggage and handbag maker Louis Vuitton S.A.

Parmalat sues two former auditors for $10 billion

Bankrupt Italian dairy products company Parmalat S.p.A. has filed suit against the Italian subsidiaries of two major U.S. accounting firms, Deloitte & Touche L.L.P. and Grant Thornton L.L.P. Parmalat claims that Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and Grant Thornton International failed in their capacities as auditors of the company. Parmalat has since failed due to widespread corporate fraud.
