Ratings agency Standard and Poor's analysis of the stock value and business conditions at top U.S. automakers Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Crop. are discussed. The lowering of the agency's rating for Ford Motor Co. to double-B-minus reflects its assessment of both companies' market share and the belief that financial turmoil at General Motors will have a negative effect on earnings at Ford as well.
