A labor-reform bill being proposed by the South Korean legislator contains controversial provisions such as allowing employers to retrench workers without the need to seek court permission and permitting them to hire temporary workers in cases of strikes. The country's labor unions have waged an all-out campaign against the bill while foreign investors and businessmen believe that it will produce economic benefits for the country.
