Formula One to launch Eurobond issue

London, UK-based Formula One Holdings chief executive officer Bernie Ecclestone is moving forward with plans for borrowing $2 billion on the Eurobond market. The firm, which controls the TV rights to the reaching championship, appears to be prepared for an initial public flotation. Formula One holdings' proposed financing was announced on September 28, 1998, but underwriter Morgan Stanley Dean Witter will market the Eurobond for the next number of weeks ahead of schedule. Formula One spokesperson Stephen Mullens said the development poses a chance to do a bond issue as a seamless transaction the would lead to an initial public offering within two to three years.
