Fractured: Haiti
Article Abstract:
Haiti's military junta installed Bazin as prime minister on Jun 2, 1992. He lost a Dec 1990 election to Father Jean-Bertrand Aristide by a 67%-14% margin. The coup which overthrew Aristide prompted severe international economic sanctions which have put 140,000 Haitians out of work, but have caused little inconvenience to the rich who back the military.
