France Telecom e-business targets small, medium and large companies. The company, a 100% subsidiary of France Telecom, the French telephone operator, is involved in a project with the French Inland Revenue, in order to allow companies to report their VAT income on-line. The company offers services in such fields as market places, on-line application development, consultancy, information systems, etc. France Telecom e-business targets a turnover of FFr 200mn in 2000, with a staff of almost 200.

9 Telecom, the French telephone operator will soon supply its business clients (especially the ADSL and IP subscribers) data on the quality of service and the behaviour of the backbone network and their access link. Failed frame rate and port utilisation rate will be the first two data available in the beginning, according to 9 Telecom which does not plan to supply data on the response time in the near future, due to technical problems.
