France Telecom will sell its stake in Yellow Pages to KKR, Goldman
Article Abstract:
France Telecom S.A. is to sell a 54 percent stake in subsidiary PagesJaunes Groupe S.A. also of France for 3.4 billion Euros ($4.3 billion). The stake is being sold to a private equity group fronted by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. of the United States and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. also of the United States. The deal is unusual because it is valued at billions of dollars but the buyer will not have complete control of the company.

Japan returns to global stage as an acquirer

Japan Tobacco Inc. has a bid offer for Gallaher Group PLC of the United Kingdom for 7.5 billion Pounds ($14.8 billion). The acquisition would be Japan's first foreign acquisition and illuistrates the growth in the economy.
