How to guess the ending
Article Abstract:
A model has been developed to forecast the success of movies, and has been used with historical data, which has led to certain conclusions. The research has been carried out by Pradeep Chintagunta from Chicago University, and Rayma Neelamegham from Colorado University. They have found that movies tend to perform better if local distributors are used, and Mexicans and Japanese movie audiences especially like thrillers. Romantic movies also tend not to perform well in overseas markets. Germany and Japan are seen as predictable markets, while Brazil and Britain are unpredictable.
