The British Bar Council and its Serious Fraud Office have proposed changes to fraud case procedures. Fraud trials in Britain generally take a great deal of time, and the wider use of plea bargaining, civil proceedings, and earlier defense disclosure could change that.

In pursuit of fraud
Article Abstract:
A royal commission is investigating Britain's criminal justice system. Long trials especially fraud trials are costly and impose a heavy toll on the defendant guilty or not. The needed changes must come from the judges and the prosecution.
