French corporate bailouts expose cracks in the EU

The French government's 3.1 billion euros bailout of Alstom S.A. has undermined the European Union's efforts to maintain an even playing field for all European companies. The Alstom bailout is the third time that France has conducted a major corporate rescue plan, upsetting the EU in the process.
