From the ashes
Article Abstract:
Clark Field in the Philippines was a major military base until 1991 when Mount Pinatubo erupted. The devastation prompted the government to seek domestic and foreign investors to participate in the revival of the region, known as the Clark Special Economic Zone. The majority of the buildings remained sound and an austere building formerly used to accommodate military personnel, was transformed into a deluxe resort hotel. The Mimosa Golf and Country Clubs course was designed by Nelson, Wright and Haworth, Hawaiian architectural team, and the landscape incorporates some of the 100 year old trees.
