Frozen food in Germany

Article Abstract:

The Germany frozen foods industry has seen a rise in production up to 1994 when it was halted. Imports of frozen foods exceed exports. Total frozen food sales increased by 4.5% in 1993 in volume terms. Sales growth has been most rapid in bakery goods and ready-prepared products. Volume sales are growing but a fall in prices means that sales are not rising so much in value terms. Longer term prospects for the industry are good especially in the eastern German market, though rises in value terms are not expected to be large in hte short term due to drops in price.

Spain's consumer spending behavior for the 1990s is determined by the country's position regarding European integration, its aging population, the effects of recession, its growing pool of unemployed educated young, the growing women workforce and the exposure of its citizens to globalization. Industries that are expected to do well are the discount stores/hypermart industries, food manufacturers, health products/foods manufacturers, leisure and luxury products and services and the specialty shops industry.
