Bjarti Mohr a fishing vessels owner from Faroe Islands discusses various aspects of fishing. Mohr is of the opinion that rising fuel prices will be hamper the fishing operations. Mohr's vessels catch cod, haddock, saithe, redfish and black halibut.

Too many filleters spoil the prices - says Kristian Rasmussen

Kristian Rasmussen, a pelagic operator in the Faroe Islands, stated that prices for herring, filleted and frozen at sea in 2001, were good but dropped in 2002. He maintains that the prices fell, due to an increase in fishing vessels from Iceland.

Record bid for Dutch Matjes herring

The record price paid on May 31, 2005 at an American auction for Dutch Matjes herring is discussed. Jaczon's Wiron 5 and Wiron 6 caught the fish, which was sold for 60,000 Euros a bucket at the auction.
