Fund mergers pose dilemma
Article Abstract:
The consolidation of the financial services industry is bad news to Asian investors. The merger of fund managers such as BT Funds Management and Deutsche Bank of Germany has made investors wary of their investment's future. BT Funds manages a $370 billion portfolio, while Deutsche Bank manages $265 billion in investments. Merged firms may decide to drop funds or close existing products which may imperil investors' money. To avoid the negative effects of mergers on investments, investors must switch funds before the merger takes place.
