GDF plans to invest in high-tech, consumer goods projects to raise returns

Guangdong Development Fund plans to start up new investments in high-tech and consumer food projects in order to gain higher returns. It is looking for new projects with a 25% internal rate of return. The company now has committed a total of US$77 mn in 16 projects which will take at least three to five months to be concluded. Total investment in the 16 projects represents 82% of the fund's net assets. It has to dispose of some of the existing project before going into new projects. *

Expressway focuses on new projects

Jiangsu Expressway posted a profit-after-tax of RMB 277.08 mn for the first half year, up 327% from the same period of last year. Revenue after tax totalled RMB 511.39 mn, up 79.7%. It is applying for an A share issue. The H-share company has US$12 mn deposit, compared with only US$10 mn long-term loans. It is seeking more large-scale road projects in China through capital injection or acquisitions. The company also plans to invest more in existing toll highways in Jiangsu Province. *

Chu Kong eyes new projects

Chu Kong Shipping Development Co. plans to expand the market share of its river trade transportation and toll road business in China. It is seeking opportunities to acquire new assets. It does not rule out the possibility of acquiring new toll roads with the co-operation of other parties.
