General Re will acquire DP Mann Holdings
Article Abstract:
General Re Corp. a reinsurance firm based in Stamford, CT, has concurred to purchase London, UK-based DP Mann Holdings Ltd. in a deal that could be valued at 100 million pounds (US$166.4 million). The move was part of General Re's effort to expand its market in the light of rising competition and increasing demands of reinsurance industry costumers. General Re, which primarily offers property and casualty insurance services, will gain entry into the British insurance market with the acquisition of DP Mann, one of the largest remaining independent firms at Lloyds of London.
