Generali's net profit rises sharply

Assicurazioni Generali SpA reported its net profit increased sharply in the first half of 2000. Its group net profit increased to 1.84 trillion lire (Euro950.2 million) in the six months ended June 30, versus 1.58 trillion lire for the full year 1999.

Skandia's profit rises, but investors remain wary

Skandia AB posted an increase of 38% in operating profits for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2000 to 5.42 billion kroner (638.6 million euros). The company however, saw its share value decline as a result of revenue worries.

Aetna's net profit dropped sharply in second quarter

Aetna Inc. posted a sharp decline in its net profits for the 2001 second-quarter. The company posted $10.6 million (12.1 million euros) in net income for the period, compared to $186.6 million during the same 2000 period.
