IRI's Gros-Pietro appointed Eni head

Eni SpA announced that Gian Maria Gros-Pietro has been appointed by the government of Italy to become its new chairman. Eni is the fourth-largest oil and gas company in Europe. Mr. Gros-Pietro is currently the head of Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale SpA. He will be formally instituted as chairman at a Eni stockholders' meeting on November 29, 1999.

Italy offers investors 5% stake in Eni
