UK prepares for privatisation
Article Abstract:
The UK government plans to sell 46% of National Air Traffic Services (Nats) to a private consortium in early 2001, leaving the government with just a 49% stake in the company and the remaining 5% to employees. A semi- private Nats would have two subsidiaries, one dealing with regulated en route traffic, and the other with airport traffic and new business. Nats' turnover has risen by 13% from 540 million pounds sterling in 1996 to 568 million pounds sterling in 2000.

TBI targets regional growth
Article Abstract:
TBI, an airport investment company based in the UK, has emerged as one of the major independent investors in the world in airports and airport management. Its approach is based on a policy that recognizes the rise in surface transport congestion and the inevitable latent growth in regional airport busines. Its transition from property to airport group was made in 1998 when it sold the majority of its non-airport assets.
