German business index rises

Germany posted a rise in the Ifo business climate index to 91.9 for the September 2003 period. This was compared to 90.8 in the August period. The rise in the index increased expectations that Germany's economy would see growth again by the end of 2003.

German employment growth fails to reach nation's east
Article Abstract:
Economic recovery in Germany is growing, however the unemployment rate still remains a bugbear. Unemployment was 16.5 percent or 4.11 million in March 2007. Eastern Germany lost approximately 3 million jobs at the time of reconstruction.

Allianz to lead pension fund for German metals industry

Allianz AG will offer a pension fund for German engineering employees, beginning at the start of the 2002 year. The pension fund will be provided for approximately 3.6 million engineering workers.
