Glaverbel Czech to build a new plant
Article Abstract:
Glaverbel Czech (GC) (Teplice, Czech Republic), glass company, will invest about CEK 500 mil in the construction of a Pyrobel fire glass production plant. The new fully automated plant will have about 25 employees. The investment resulted from growing demand for fire glass on the European markets. GC's parent company Glaverbel (Belgium) expects its profit to increase by more than 20% in 2001 compared to 2000. Its net profit rose to EUR 99.8 mil in 2000 compared to EUR 25.2 mil in 1999.

Saint-Gobain Vertex will invest in Poland
Article Abstract:
Saint-Gobain Vertex (S-GV) (Litomysl, Czech Republic), glass fibre and fabric manufacturer, will invest several dozens of millions of Czech crowns in Velimat (Poland). Velimat is involved in glass mat production. S-GV bought Velimat for CEK 90 mil in 2000. Besides, it invested another nearly CEK 130 mil in the firm by a stock increase. S-GV will realize technical restructuring at Velimat in 2001. Velimat expects a profit in 2002 compared to a loss of CEK 36 mil in 2000.
