Golfing for friendship and charity
Article Abstract:
The golf tournament, Swiss-American Golf Championship was organized by musician and American Club member, Edward Deskur, in 1998 to develop the friendly relations between Americans and Swiss. In addition, Deskur aims to make this competition as a fund-raising activity for the benefit of the SOS Children's Villages, which provides homes for 'unplaceable' orphans. For 1999, the Swiss-American Golf Championship will be held in the championship golf course near Bad Ragaz, Switzerland in Sept 25. The golf competition is open to American and Swiss golfers with a handicap of 36 and below.

Furthering education the American way
Article Abstract:
Swiss universities are offering BA or MBA programs that are patterned after those of the US. Some universities with parent campuses in the US include Rochester-Bern, Webster University, City University and Schiller International University. One of the more unusual schools is Franklin College which is an American institution although its only campus can be found in Switzerland, in Soregno/Lugano.
