Good vibrations
Article Abstract:
A new technique detects viruses by listening to them using a quartz crystal microbalance. The quartz is made to vibrate by running an electric current through it. Anything attached to the quartz, such as a virus, is thrown off, and the crystal is used as a microphone to measure the departing objects.
