Great game, awful risks: extracting oil from the Caspian

The Caspian Sea holds at least 100 billion barrels of oil, which is a conservative estimate. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are working with oil companies that want to extract the oil, but transportation to the Black Sea continues to be a problem due to political wrangling.
