Gresham Trust was the primary private equity house involved in nine transactions during 1996, valued at a total of 90 million pounds sterling. Gresham has 120 million pounds worth of capital to invest for its parent company Eagle Star, under a co-investment scheme. Gresham deals mostly with middle range companies, in the UK, corporate market. Its deals are most often worth around 5-30 million pounds sterling each. Gresham has had to make several important new appointments in order cope with the increasing amount of new business.

Notable recent deals include the 28 million pound sterling reworking of Beck and Pollitzer Engineering, and also the 28 million pound management buyout of the UK food and drink vending machine company, Slotz Group. Divestments for 1998 include the sale of HTEC to CardClear.
