Groping at atoms: virtual reality
Article Abstract:
Researchers are developing virtual reality systems that allow chemists to manipulate molecules and chemical bonds. The systems could be used to design new drugs and miniature electronic circuitry. Researchers are also experimenting with scanning tunneling microscopes in chemical engineering.

Learning to see atoms
Article Abstract:

Still a virtual reality
Article Abstract:
Virtual reality is not the technological marvel that it was touted to be for two reasons. Users can do three dimensional work on computers without headsets, and there is a long lag time with the headsets between a command and an action.
