ALL SEES FURTHER DENT IN PROFITS
Article Abstract:
Ashok Leyland Limited (ALL) has incurred a loss of Rs36.72 crore in the first half of 1998-99. Its turnover has declined by 7.1 percent to Rs858.67 crore (Rs924.32 crore in the first half of 1997-98). It posted a cash profit of Rs15.65 crore and a gross profit of Rs34.8 lakh in the second quarter of 1998-99. It sold 12,081 vehicles in the first half of 1998-99 (14,815 vehicles). Its market share has increased from 29 percent to 37 percent in the first half of 1998-99. (rk)

Article Abstract:
The net profit of Hindustan Inks and Resins has increased by 130 percent to Rs5.43 crore in the third quarter of 1998-99 compared to Rs2.35 crore in the third quarter of 1997-98. Its net sales increased by 48 percent to Rs38 crore from Rs25 crore. (khr)
