HONG KONG: CENTRE SET UP BY PASTEUR INSTITUTE
Article Abstract:
The French pharmaceutical group, Institut Pasteur, recently set up a new centre in Hong Kong, as part of a joint company created with the University of Hong Kong. The group is aiming at the Chinese market, where there are particular public health problems. Programmes have already been signed with the Universities of Beijing and Shanghai. Financed by a local banker, the new centre, which employs 14, aims to be able to finance itself within three years, and market researched products for infectious diseases, based on gene-biotechnology.
