HZL SALES UP 27%, REPORTS RECORD PBT
Article Abstract:
Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) has posted a sales growth of 27 percent (Rs1,233.74 crore) and profit before tax of Rs201.77 crore for 1997-98. It will pay a dividend of Rs16.27 crore for 1997-98, which is 2.3 times higher than in 1996-97. HZL had produced 1.36 lakh tonnes of zinc and exported 1.19 lakh tonnes of concentrate, valued at $30.24 million. It plans to expand its electrolytic zinc smelters capacity by 20,000 tonnes per annum. It is also planning to commission its second phase of mining at Rampura- Agucha mines. (rk)

EXCEL INDUSTRIES Q3 SALES UP 20% TO Rs80 CR

Excel Industries has recorded a 20 percent increase in sales to Rs80 crore for the third quarter of 1998-99 (Rs67 crore during third quarter of 1997-98). Its net profit increased to Rs1.34 crore (Rs0.33 crore loss). The improved performance is partly attributed to a better season. (um)(vr)
