LoganLM will design and install an integrated baggage screening/conveyor system at the Delta Airlines Terminal at Salt Lake City International Airport. The company will also replace the control system for the mail sorting center at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport located at the American Airlines Annex. LoganLM is a joint venture between Logan Fabricom of UK and Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies and is seeking business opportunities in baggage and cargo handling systems in North America.

Mannesmann Dematic AG Systems
Article Abstract:
Spanish airport operator AENA has chosen Mannesmann Dematic AG Systems to build a new baggage-handling system at Madrid Barajas' new passenger terminal. The new terminal would have 172 check-in desks and 33 departure gates and would be completed by mid-2001. The baggage system will handle 4,600 outbound items and 4,200 inbound bags as well as 7,700 transfer bags during peak hours. A high-speed link would also be installed between the airport's main building and the satellite terminal.

Siemens wins Munich baggage contract
Article Abstract:
Siemens Production and Logistics Systems has been chosen to provide the new automated baggage handling system at Munich International Airport's Terminal 2. The baggage handling system that Siemens plans to install at the airport can transport 10,000 items per hour from the check-in to its destination in a container. It would have an overall system availability of 99%, round-the-clock, seven days a week. Each baggage item would have a conveying time from one to 11 minutes
