Hidden truths
Article Abstract:
Deception and hypocrisy are unfortunately quite common in business circles. In fact, the ability to lie with a straight face has become a trait associated with success in business negotiation, while sycophancy has become the norm for many top managers in large, unwieldy organizations. However, given a choice, most executives would prefer to work in environments which encourage truthful behavior and in companies which discourage sycophancy. Executives who wish to avoid deception and hypocrisy in their offices would therefore be advised to work for small companies where the intimate environment is more conducive to honest behavior among executives and employees alike.

Why it is always the big, willing fires that burn out
Article Abstract:
Job burn out is a very real disease that usually occurs when people care about their jobs but can no longer sustain the amount of energy and emotion necessary to do them properly. People who expect their jobs to provide meaning and significance in their lives are most susceptible to burn out. The current environment is contributing to burn out because people have less confidants and less control over the impact of their work and leisure lives. Companies can help prevent burn out by not requiring employees to strictly conform to company standards.
