How beautiful is big?
Article Abstract:
There is increased international merger and acquisition activity among law firms, stimulated by financial deregulation and the complex nature of business laws. More law practices are expected to attempt to position themselves for pan-European practice as the 1992 goal of an internal market draws near. The British legal industry in particular is in a period of rapid growth, having been helped by the 1967 liberalization of government regulations. Slower growth of law firms has been going on in European nations such as West Germany. The merger activities and practices of several large British and European firms are described.
