Aristocrat, Australian slot-machine maker, looks to continue its company's phenomenal growth. Gambling has grown rapidly in Australia, rising 16% per year since 1973 to a A$6.6 billion-dollar industry in 1995. Asian tourists should continue to fuel the rise. Aristocrat has half the Australian gaming-machine market, and aims to expand into the U.S. and Asia. The company plans to use the cash raised by going public to fund the company's growth, adding new manufacturing centers in Australia and elsewhere.

Food for the masses
Article Abstract:
The largest Australian restaurant is Cantonese and the Kam Fook Sharks Fin Seafood Restaurant in Sydney's Chinatown has served around 3,000 customers since it opened in early January. There are 120 tables and around 200 kilograms of rice, 800 pork buns, 1,000 egg tarts and 100 kilograms of vegetables are consumed daily. There are 60 chefs and 120 staff, each equipped with a mobile phone so that customers are served quicker. The restaurant expects to break even in around 18 months.
