Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe could face strong opposition in the next election from Ndabaningi Sithole, who has spoken in support of the Renamo terrorist group that is fighting in Mozambique. Elections are due in 1995, and Mugabe hopes his economic programs can produce results by then.
