Household appliances
Article Abstract:
The value of the UK market for household appliances is forecast to rise by 1.8% at constant 1998 prices to 7,740 million pounds sterling in 2001. The most significant sector of the market in value terms is consumer electronics, representing 58% of sales in 1998. The leader of the household appliances market is Sony, accounting for 11.5% of value sales in 1997. Replacement rates will slow down as a result of technological and design innovation in existing products, thus having an impact on overall demand.
