Intrawest Corp, a Vancouver, Canada-based ski resort operator, succeeded in transforming Mont Tremblant located north of Montreal, Canada, from a bankrupt business to an upscale, four-season resort. The company, which purchased the business in 1991, invested C$1 million in the ski resort over a seven-year period. Mont Tremblant, which attracted 1.2 million visitors in 1997, is ranked No 1 resort in eastern North America by readers of Boulder, CO-based Ski Magazine.
