Eastern European countries such as Czechoslovakia have handled their internal ethnic divisions well, while others, such as Yugoslavia, have plummeted into violence. Borders that disregard ethnic divisions, ex-communist leaders, and earlier ethnic bloodshed are indicators of possible violence.

Forget vengeance
Article Abstract:
Several Eastern European countries are considering laws that would penalize former communists, minor officials as well as the major ones. The resulting trials and divisions would create civil war all over again. The time has come to forgive and move on.
