A Delaware court has ruled that Italian financier Giancarlo Parretti breached an agreement with the Credit Lyonnais subsidiary that lent him $1 billion to help run MGM-Pathe Communications Corp. The bank claimed Parretti was mismanaging the studio and endangering their investment.

Credit Lyonnais lent Parretti nearly $1 billion to buy the Hollywood film studio MGM-Pathe in Nov 1990. Parretti's inability to turn MGM around led to a suit removing him from the board. He has countered with his own suit accusing Credit Lyonnais of stock price manipulation.
