The planned privatisation of Italian insurance and reinsurance firm Nuova Tirrena is a rushed and untimely one, especially since the firm has not yet returned to normality following its creation after the Jun. 1993 winding-up of Tirrena Assicurazioni. The new management has not had sufficient time yet to implement fully its strategic plan, which includes focusing on the life sector; improving communications; improving organisational efficiency; and finding new business areas.
