The sea trials are being conducted in the waters off Newcastle on Australia's east coast, as well as deployment to tropical littoral maritime environment off Queensland to assess the vessel's key capabilities, including the variable deep sonar (VDS). Equipment performance test for the HMAS Huon will also be performed in special test ranges.
