InterContinental Hotels Group PLC is relaunching its Holiday Inn brand, involving bathroom upgrades, bedding replacements, lobby and exterior design changes, and a dramatic alteration to the logo. The $1 bil relaunch is expected to open in US locations in spring 2008, with 100 Asia-Pacific hotels revamped during the second quarter of 2008.

Turkish hotels are beginning to market to Islamic tourists, specifically religious Turks who want to spend their vacations in accordance with their religious principles. Hotel Gulnihan, for example, is one of a growing number of hotels on the Turkish Mediterranean that targets Islamic Turks living in Turkey and in Europe.

IHG to franchise hotels in China
