ISRAEL: CA IB TAKES STAKE IN BROKER

CA IB, the investment bank subsidiary of Bank Austria, is to take a 16% stake in the Israeli broker house Koor Futures Market Ltd (KFM). KFM specialises in international capital market business and in asset management. Until now, CA IB has been active in Israel only through a representative office. CA IB will work as a market maker for Israeli products in the Easdaq in Brussels and offer European stocks and bonds to Israeli investors.

AUSTRIA: VIENNA STOCK EXCHANGE PRIVATISED

The Austrian state has sold its 50% stake in the Vienna Stock Exchange company Wiener Borse AG (WBAG) to 30 companies, whose shares are quoted on the stock exchange. The remaining 50% continue to be held by 36 banks, which did not want to increase their stakes. The sale of the 50% stake raised Sch 170mn. This involves a 15% discount on the estimated value of the stake.
